YSL Libre Eau De Parfum Intense belongs to the Amber-Fougère family. It dials up the warmth, sweetness, and floral creaminess of the original Libre DNA to create a darker, more sultry night signature.
- Top Notes (The Luminous Aromatic Spark): French Lavender, Mandarin Orange, and Bergamot. A clean, bright opening where crisp aromatic lavender creates a bold, traditionally masculine contrast.
- Heart Notes (The Sensual Floral Core): Moroccan Orange Blossom, Orchid Accord, and Jasmine Sambac. A plush, creamy centerpiece featuring a vibrant orchid accord that adds a smoldering, jungle-floral intensity.
- Base Notes (The Enveloping Trail): Madagascar Vanilla, Ambergris, Tonka Bean, and Vetiver. A dark, tawny foundation that delivers a rich, sweet, and velvety warmth with incredible longevity.
The Origin: Anne Flipo & Carlos Benaïm's Amps Up the Flame
Released in 2020, Libre Eau De Parfum Intense was created by master perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm.
The duo set out to amplify the "androgyne" structure of the original Libre—which famously brought masculine fougère structure to high-fashion feminine perfumery. By introducing a wild orchid accord in the heart and doubling down on a rich Bourbon vanilla infusion, they created a deeper, gold-tinged composition that feels like a warm embrace on a cool night.
The Haute Couture Flacon: The bottle reflects YSL's architectural brilliance. The liquid inside takes on a rich, fiery tan-cognac shade, housed behind sharp glass geometry. It is wrapped with the oversized gold YSL Cassandra logo bent horizontally around the corners, topped with a slanting, asymmetric black lacquer cap reminiscent of a sleek tuxedo blazer.
