Jour d'Hermès Absolu belongs to the Floral-Warm family. It takes the abstract "bouquet of flowers" concept of the original EDP and gives it a deeper, warmer, and more tactile floral focus.
- Top Notes (The Golden Opening): Grapefruit Blossom and Apricot-Citrus Accord. A bright, sunny, and slightly sweet citrus opening with a soft, velvety fruit nuance.
- Heart Notes (The Sensual Bouquet): Gardenia, Tuberose, and Sambac Jasmine. A lush, creamy floral core where the waxiness of gardenia meets the carnal elegance of tuberose.
- Base Notes (The Enveloping Trail): Oakmoss and Precious Dry Woods. A subtle, elegant foundation that provides structure and warm longevity without overpowering the flowers.
The Origin: Jean-Claude Ellena’s Essence of Femininity
Released in 2014, Jour d'Hermès Absolu was created by legendary master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. Having created the original Jour d'Hermès in 2013 to express "flowers and nothing but flowers," Ellena returned to the formula to craft an "Absolu" variation.
While the original EDP was luminous and airy, Ellena wanted the Absolu to feel like the warmth of a woman’s neck in the afternoon sun. He specifically highlighted gardenia and apricot-tinted grapefruit blossom to create a denser, creamier, and more tactile skin scent.
The Architectural Jewel Flacon: Designed by Pierre Hardy, the 85 ml bottle is a masterpiece of glassmaking weight. It features a massive, solid square glass base that grounds the teardrop-shaped inner cavity holding the amber nectar. Topped with a brass-embossed seal carrying the Hermès Ex-Libris emblem and a warm, rose-gold metallic neck, it is fully refillable.
