Created in 2014 by Guerlain’s Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser, Santal Royal was the foundational masterpiece that launched the entire Absolus d'Orient collection. Inspired by the olfactory treasures of the Middle East, Wasser set out to explore the rare nuances of high-grade sandalwood.
To give the creamy, precious wood a dark, mysterious edge, Wasser enveloped it with notes of dark leather and smoky oud, while maintaining French elegance through a delicate rose-and-peach touch. It quickly became an international cult favorite and remains one of the most celebrated woody-oriental fragrances of the modern era.
